Hello. Is it possible to query the terminal (Linux console, or terminal emulators like xterm, rxvt, Eterm, gnome-terminal and konsole) about its color setting, so that I can decide the color configuration that I should apply for an application (like mutt, or slrn, or mc) that runs on the console? Basicaly I want to know what are the settings of the basic 16 terminal colors.
