Hello all,
Don't know if this is off topic, since Pro Tools runs on Apple hardware I
hopit isn't.
As of last sunday the new iMacs are available and the new Mac Pro's are
announced as well and will be on sale next month.
As Brian Smart already predicted the Pros will cost a little fortune... for
example the 12 core will start at 4999 dollar! The basic Pro will cost 2499,
don't know if this model will be sufficient. So I will probably go for an
iMac. The topmodel still has the i7 quad core with Turboboost and
Hyperthreading, one step below that is the i5 quad core but has only
Turboboost. Then there is a new cpu I think, an i5 dual core which has
Turboboost and Hyperthreading.
The 27" versions can now take an additional SSD drive. I am wondering which
sort it is though. Anyone any thoughts or advice on the subject? Does it
also matter how the memory is configured, like 4x2gb or 2x4gb? The memory
has gotten faster as well. NO usb 3.0 after all.
Thanks alot!
Ronald
