Wheneer installing from the cd they do usually want the registration code that came in the box with it. If you got the card or the person your bought it from still has the card get it from them, and put it in to unlock it. Otherwise just upgrade to version 10. You don't loose any functionality, you ill have to remove the AAX plug in folder so pro tools will default back to the accessible RTAS plug ins, but other wise you will have all the same functionality as 99.
