Hi Alan, First thing to do is to make sure you have the 002 selected in the pop-up list in the Playback Engine dialog. After confirming or setting that, go to the I/O Setup dialog under the setups menu. The first tab is the Input tab. Select all inputs by pressing Command-a. Press the delete Path button and confirm the action with the OK button. Then click the Default button. This will create deafault default input paths for the chosen device, in your case, the 002. Repeat the above steps for the second tab which is the Output tab. When you're done, click OK to exit the I/O Setup dialog. Now your input and output path selectors should reflect the 002's inputs and outputs.
I'll have to get a set of batteries to confirm the external num pad question. Might have an answer later today or tomorrow.
