What's the major difference in creating a track as virtual instrument
over Midi? I typically use VI, and can still add any of the instrument
plugs including AD. Obviously it's still writing midi, and still
allows me to edit notes, ETC. So was juwst wondering which one makes
more since.

Just a few tips when I wish to edit midi, I interact with the track
from within the edit window, and under track view selecter switch to
notes. This way, when I press tab I'm actually tabbing through the
individual notes of midi in a project. If I land on a note that I wish
to change the velocity of, I press option number row 0. By default
this places me on quantize, and if I press command option down arrow
I'm moved down a tab. I can then tab one time and press control option
space and I'll hear something to the affect of change velocity to? I
type the number in and press enter, and the velocity has been changed.
When I wish to quantize, I will often make a selection the normal way
of using down and up arrows to make the selection, and then again
press option number row 0. This time I can VO right through these
options, and make the desired adjustments. As far as adjusting the
swing here, There is a checkbox before two edit boxes, and at least in
PT 10 it does not id itself so checking it will then allow you to
enter a swing value in the next edit field. HTH.
