Hi, One thing also to remember is when Avid says they don't officially
support the digi 002 there are people using the digi 002 with pro tools
11. My guess is this is what will happen to the digi 003 and when I
talked with the support person who remoted into my mac to setup my ilok
they told me they don't think they will drop the digi 003 currently as
lots of people are still using them. Just because Avid does not
officially support the digi 003 with pro tools 12 or what ever the next
version is does not mean it won't work. Nick Gawronski

I have used the eleven free which is the plug in version of the eleven rack,
and it was as accessible as all other stock PT plug ins were. I believe it's
the same ply in with a more expansive interface for controlling the eleven
rack, If you don't use the knobs and buttons on the interface itself. I do
believe there was some delay with getting the eleven soft are out for PT11 but
thought I heard somewhere that was out now.

Hi Ashley,
Welcome to the list. If you've used Pro Tools in the past, you'll have an
easier time reacquainting yourself with it. There was quite an accessibility
gap between version 5 and version 8.0.4. I'm not sure that 11 Rack is all that
accessible given that there's apparently a software interface required for some
of its features. I know that Avid is aware of this and, in all likelihood,
it'll be addressed in time. This is an interesting time for Avid for many
reasons, not the least of which is the transition toward new product lines and
platforms. It makes the process of investing in interfaces/control surfaces an
exercise in option paralysis.
From the software point of view, both Pro Tools and Mavericks, we're in the
middle of a sweet spot. It's the hardware that's a little trickier. The 003 is
probably the best all-around solution for interface/control surface as far as
Pro Tools is concerned. Thing is, the 003 is exclusively for Pro Tools as far
as surface goes. Yes, you can use it as a general interface with other
applications but, for control surface, it'll only respond to Pro Tools. If PT
is all you're going to use it for, then it's a great choice. That said, it's at
the tail end of its life cycle so, while it'll work with Pro Tools 11, it's
unlikely that it'll work with Pro Tools 12 or whatever follows the 11.x line.
That's just the nature of product life cycles, isn't it?
Anyway, hopefully others' experiences can help you make the right choice for
your circumstances.
Best,
Slau

Hi All,
I'm new on this list - so firstly, hi! I hope to learn many things here as well
as help out myself, where possible.
I'm considering picking up ProTools 11 with the Avid Eleven Rack and a
Behringer BCF-2000 control surface. I was wondering what is the overall status
of ProTools 11 accessibility? I read some posts here regarding the PT11 betas,
but that was obviously pre-release software.
What's the status of ProTools 11 accessibility, as of the latest update? What
can and can't be done? Is there anything that inhibits a users ability to use
PT11?
Using mavericks.
Thanks for any and all help,
Ashley
