dot app usually means its the app w and just needs to go into your
applications folder. Downloads with dot app files may also have an
applications alius which is a shortcut to your applications folder so
its easy to move the dot app file into the applications folder. if it
doesn't then just copy and paste it into the applications folder the
same way you would do this otherwise. if it needs to be installed its
usually a dot  pkg or package file.  open t those to start the
installer normally. if you don't have it set so in   finder
preferences you can set it to show file extensions so you can see what
type of files you are working with .
