Folks, I have a two day deadline for this. My grandfather passed away
yesterday at 10:21AM. I've been asked to perform Because He Lives with my
cousin inlaw who is a professional guitarist within the Charlotte NC area.
He'll be doing vocals/guitar, and I'll be on either piano or keyboard, just
depending on if there is a piano there. If not, I'll be bringing my
keyboard. Anyway, Here's my question. Dan and I will be rehursing tomorrow
night face to face in person, as the service will be on Thursday. However,
he wants me to nake a recording which he can dubb some things with guitar on
top of. The family not only wants it done live, but they want a
professionally done in studio arrangement. The thing is, Dan teaches
guitar, so he doesn't have a lot of time to be in the studio recording. I
shant go into all the details, but it's just not feezable for him and I to
record it together live in my studio. He, however has his own little studio
in his house just like I do. The only problem is, he uses Logic, not
ProTools. Don't worry about accessibility. He's totally sighted. What he
and I need to know is, I'm using PT 11. He's on the most recent build of
Logic. I'm not sure what flavor of Logic, but it's whatever the most
highest end version is. That, I do! know. Anyway, I know I could bounce
the session to a wave file, and send it to him to import, but he wants the
actual session. So, is there a way that I can convert the ptx file into a
session which could open up in Logic and show him all the tracks, their
meters, etc? I understand that the plugins I use are AAX, therefore
probably wouldn't carry over, but he can deal with that. He just needs some
way to access the raw unmastered unprocessed session.
I pretty much have it done over here, but I just need to know how to zip
this up in a way he could open.
Chris.
