If you want to remove the mouth noises and have all the audio shift to
the left, just hit f1 to put yourself in slip mode.
I too use simple audio editors when just needing to edit a quick wave or
mp3. I'm a huge fan of Amadeus pro, but I'll definitely check out
Twisted wave.
