Hi Krister,

Just to give you a little context, when you press a track's insert button, the
scribble strips display the plug-in names instantiated on the various inserts.
Pressing the selector corresponding to the channels insert will then populate
the scribble strips and encoder knobs & buttons with the parameters. This might
sound quite confusing at first. Let me explain a little further so you
understand the concept behind the channel strip versus what is sometimes called
the Control Bar Section. By Control bar Section, I mean the row of encoder
knobs, buttons and scribble strips (the little LED displays). By default, we
think of each knob , button and scribble strip as belonging to each channel on
the control surface and that is an accurate way of thinking of these controls.
However, in certain modes, you need to think of the encoders and buttons as
functioning horizontally, from left to right. Just as you saw in flip mode, the
parameters are laid out from left to right. So, when viewing a compressor
plug-in, the first knob might be the level, the second or third might be the
threshold, somewhere after that, a ratio, etc. So, when you press the insert
button for a given track, the scribble strips display 5 inserts for that track
across the length of all the knobs. the thing is, you have to make a note of
which encoder buttons correspond to each insert. For example, on the larger
surfaces like Control|24 and C|24, the first, fourth, seventh, tenth and
thirteenth buttons correspond with inserts A through E. If there's no plug-in
instantiated on an insert, the encoders and knobs won't populate with anything
but, if there is something in that insert, the encoder knobs and buttons will
populate with the parameters of the plug-in. Again, you'll have to figure out
which parameter is which. BTW, while continuous parameters like level,
threshold, etc. pop down to the faders in flip mode, switch parameters like
bypass do not. Just keep that in mind.

Hope that helps,

Slau
