Well, one workaround is to simply regard the meters as displaying a factor of 10 higher than what is actually being received. In other words, if you see minus 1.5, the signal is really minus 15 and if you see minus .2, it's really minus 2. There was always a dual license bundle for both Pro Tools 10 when you upgrade to 11. I believe that's still the case. Check with your retailer to confirm. You can certainly record in 10 and go between 10 and 11 freely. Some plug-ins from 10 might not work with 11 but most do since most developers have made the jump.
