By no means is any offense whatsoever intended by this, so believe me, no
hard feelings, but, didn't I first of all say in my message that I
understood this was not a PT issue? I do have Voiceover set to have the
mouse pointer follow the Voiceover cursor. In the past however, that really
didn't seem to make much an difference when these situations came up. Maybe
I'm just missing something here that is obvious. I have no doubt that Apple
is aware of this and will fix it. I'm sorry if my message came across that
I was suggesting they wouldn't, as that is as far from the meaning of my
e-mail as it gets. I didn't at all mean to imply that. I'm only asking if
this is still an issue, as right now, I really don't feel comfortable
relying on those other work around methods. It's not a big deal. Well ok,
yes, it's a big deal, and Apple does need to fix it, but what I'm saying is,
it's not a big deal if I have to stay on Mavericks. I just don't want to
upgrade until I know for sure if these issues are still there or not. This
is not a matter of will Apple fix it or not, will Avid fix it or not. I'm
sorry you took it as such, although in my defense, I've not the slightest
idea how my message came across that way. Enlighten me. All that I am
saying is simply are the issues still there, yes, or no, and if no, then
what version of Yosemite, and what version of PT specifically do I need to
insure the issues won't be there.
By the way you're writing back though, you've seemed to imply that they are
still there. Am I not correct on that assumption?

The focus issue is a VoiceOver issue and not Pro Tools. Apple is aware of it
and I think it'll just be a matter of time. We saw this same kind of thing
just a couple of years ago between Snow Leopard and Mountain Lion and it was
resolved. For now, you can try having the mouse pointer follow the VoiceOver
cursor and that should help for now.

I very much so would be willing to upgrade this machine to Yosemite, but
here is my question before I do so. The last time that I looked,
Voiceover was still having some minor focus issues with ProTools on
Yosemite. OK, granted, I'll grant you that it wasn't anything that would
render using PT impossible. Mainly, things like certain combo boxes not
reading correctly. A very very good example of this is the new track
dialog box. I totally get that one could use option+up, down, left, or
right arrows to select the track type, and the track channel
configuration, but what I'm ultimately asking here is, have those issues
gotten any better by chance, or at this point, are they still somewhat of
an issue. I know, it can be done. I totally totally get that. I just
think this is going to personally, just my preference, confuse me a bit
more than I'd like it to. I think this would be a bit awquard for me with
my current workflow setup.
If we can get Voiceover to correctly read those areas like it does in
Mavericks, then I'll very gladly upgrade today, but I don't wanna do so
until I know this for sure.
Again, for anyone thinking of getting a Yosemite machine to use with PT
11, let me make it once again very very clear. I am not saying that it
cannot be done. Make that very known. It can be. It's just ever ever so
slightly more tricky to the best of my previous knowledge.
If things have improved, can you all please tell me what build of PT11
specifically I need to be running, and what build of Yosemite 10.10 I need
to make things correctly read?
