Yeh, it will read the drive and even import some files into PT, but saving to
it is not an option for this particular drive.

If the mac isn’t allowing you to pen files on the drive you may need to change
or repair permissions. If you want to be able to save or put files on the drive
you will need one of th eNTFS plug in utilities as OS X natively doesn’t
support writing to NTFS drives but should read it fine. Also PT may not allow
you to set NTFS drives for use within the app so for PT projects you may have
to move it off the external in finder to another drive before attempting to
open a project.

I know I can do that, but I didn’t want to have to back up a TB worth of info
to another drive before I format it. I didn’t know if there was another way to
change it from read only mode.

Thanks anyway though.

reformat the drive from NTFS to XFat or Mac OS Extended using disk utility.

I have an external drive that I used on a windows system for many years and I
want to use it on my Mac now, but it will not allow me to move projects around
from the drive to the Mac or vice versa what do I need to do here?

Thanks
