Hi,
I used to use both Fireface and Babyface.
You can change the basic settings like buffer size and stuff, but if you
want to work with mixer, you have to ask someone to create a preset for you.
However, the preset files are similar to xml, so you can edit them on
text edit and load.

Thanks Nicola, I wish it was more plug and play, well, I may be
looking at the Apogee line. I like some of their older gear, but don’t
have any hands on experience. I also like the Universal audio stuff,
but I have heard a lot of negative reviews about their ADAC converters.

No direct experience, but i know that the Total Mixer is not
accessible. To fix this you need to create an user presets library in
order to recall the scenario you need time by time, of course you need
someone that help you to do it. Consider that via the total mixer you
control almost all the device functionalities, such as poering the
phantoms on, selecting the inpput and so on. Apart this, the Fireface
is maybe the best choice in terms of price/quality in its range. Best.
