Hi Steve,

Depending on precisely what you wish to achieve, there might be any number of
ways to do it. Forgive me but I can't enumerate any steps unless I know exactly
what the parameters are. It seems you have a track (rhythm guitar, is it?) and
you want to extend a solo section? Am I understanding that correctly? If you
absolutely want to keep it on the same audio track, you can split the clip
where you want to insert another clip, press f1 to make sure you're in Shuffle
mode and paste the clip. the clip that resides to the right of the insertion
point will slide over to accommodate the pasted clip.

I have to say, for me to take that approach, it would have to be very
specificly called for. Again, I don't know the details so I can't say
definitively but there are probably several ways to accomplish what you're
trying to do.

If you'd like, you could give me more details. Further, you could even send me
a basic session file and I could take a look at it. At that point, I could
probably spell out exactly what you'd need to do and how to do it.
Best,
Slau
