Hi JP, No. What probably happened is that either the track wasn’t actually showing, it was scrolled out of view, it wasn’t tall enough or something similar. What happened is that you dragged a clip onto the timeline itself but not onto an audio track but, as you see, the process works in principle. Had you done a modified drag with the appropriate modifier key, the clip would’ve been placed where the insertion cursor was, providing there was an insertion point in the track to begin with.
