If Pro Tools allows you to export broadcast wave files, that may be a 
workaround. Logic has a move to or paste at original recorded position short 
cut that will let you move files to their original location after importing or 
paste them there after copying or cutting. I have had some success with this 
setting reaper to export with broadcast wave so may be worth a try. 

Regarding markers Some Daws will embed marker info into a wave file and I have 
seen other DAWs read and import that info as well.   But I don’t remember 
seeing options for that in pro tools..
