I have been looking at the avid artist mix control surface, but was wondering,
is a control surface absolutely necessary to use ProTools? I know that it would
definitely be a benefit and advantage to have one, but, if initial funds are
limited, would the control surface be A component that I could pick up later,
as opposed to now?
I will primarily be building tracks with virtual instruments, and recording one
vocal at a time, at least at the beginning.
I definitely would like to be able to easily perform precision edits,
copy/paste functions, and plan to use autotune for vocal tuning.
Can I get by without the control surface for these things?
Thank you so much for any feedback or input that you can share.
