with soft tube controler

Flo Tools is a non issue here. Flo Tools is a set of scripts to provide some
additional keyboard shortcut and spoken feedback for voice over users. Flo
Tools will not have any control over any audio interfaces. Also short of using
one of Avid branded control surfaces, 3rd party control surfaces are by
definition Limited by comparison with what they can do in Pro Tools. This is
probably why they couldn’t speak to what extent it could control the DAW. So
while The Soft Tube Console One surface can make use of controlling UAD and
Soft tube plug in’s in Protools, which I imagine will be a great out of the box
experience if the console one comes set up to work with those plug ins
automatically, I don’t see this increasing accessibility in the UAD console
application. The UAD console application when last I used it just showed up as
a blank screen to VoiceOver. So even though you can change the values of
parameters with the Console one, unless VO is able to see and read out those
values being adjusted, there will still be no way to know what values are being
changed. And that doesn’t even begin to address how you would select channels
and load plug ins onto said channels in the UAD console to record through if
the whole thing shows up as a blank screen to VoiceOver. I think the console
one is intended to speed workflow for those that can already see the screen so
they don’t have to fiddle with a keyboard or mouse to adjust values, but with
current data/knowledge I don’t see how it can resolve the accessibility issue.
The only other way I see being able to take advantage of UAD’s unison
technology short of Universal Audio making the UAD console accessible, is if
they allow for when you instantiate a plug in inside of the DAW, that it too
can trigger the Unison changes in the Preamp. Latency is low enough now on
thunderbolt interfaces and the plug ins are already running off their DSP chips
so they won’t be adding any additional CPU hit. Until they fix this problem,
PreSonus, Apogee, Focusrite and others have a host of comparable quality
Thunderbolt interfaces that lets you track through plugs ins while recording
due to having sub 2ms of latency. Waves, Brainworks and other high end Plug in
makers also have comparable software emulations of a lot of the same classic
analog hardware on UAD’s platform. I feel we have options, so vote with your
wallets.

He didn’t know about VoiceOver. He did say It can control the DAW to some
extent. He thought a large percentage but didn’t say what percentage.

My feeling is that the Console Mark II and an Apollo quad core is a good fit
for PT and a Mac. Though don’t know how well it will play with FlowTools.

Hi folks,

I had an email exchange with softube's support about six months ago. At that
time they didn’t believe that there product would be accessible. I tried to
obtain a demo through them, which they declined. I suppose maybe we could get
some help in obtaining a demo from the Sweetwater crew? Let me know where you
end up with this please.

Console one was made to control some of the soft tube plug ins and the UAD plug
in and now the UAD console. I don’t know how much functionality it has outside
of those areas as in if it can be use to control the DAW as well. Also It seems
PreSonus took some additional steps to allow some functionality with pro tools
in the fader port 8, that you wouldn’t normally get with a non Avid/ProTOols
controller, so you may still be interested in the Fader Port. Speaking of which
zounds has the fader port 8 for $100 off today.

Hi Guys,

Am I to understand the new SoftTube Controller One can take the place of a

Hi all,

Not a UA interface user myself but thought I should post this given recent
discussions on interfaces.

At first glance it seems a 500 buvk inbestment in soft tube's controler could
open up physical control of many funvtions of the oppolo which are not yet
accessible with boice over.

Please note I have no hands experience with these products, though O am a fan
of the 2 soft tube plugins I own.
