You can upgrade the OS in place through the App Store. You can install Pro Tools 2018 without removing 12.8.x. The best way to do this is through the App Manager, probably with some sighted assistance if you've never done it before. The App Manager is a quirky environment. The other option is to download everything manually from your products section of the Avid web site. That might actually be the easiest for you. Once you launch Pro Tools, Flo Tools should automatically inform you that there's a new version. alternatively, you can always use "Check for Update" in the Keyboard Maestro menu extra while Pro Tools is running or simply visit FloTools.org <http://flotools.org/> to download the latest version manually.
