Hi Victor,
Efficiency is what Flo Tools is all about and it's an idea that's been
discussed once or twice. I think the challenge is that, to do such a thing with
one keystroke is problematic because people want to hear what they want to hear
and nothing else while others want something different and it's quite
difficult, rather Impossible, to satisfy everybody. Of course, Flo Tools does
have commands for saying which tracks are shown, which are hidden and which are
selected in addition to what the current tempo is. Identifying which busses are
being used is perhaps possible but not a guaranteed result if any tracks are
hidden. Naturally, if a track is hidden, one can't possibly know what busses
are being used. Sighted users can spend minutes looking through a session to
figure out what's going on and, as a picture is worth a thousand words, putting
all of this information into a logical sequence would take an enormous amount
of work. That doesn't mean we might not add something in the future. In the
mean time, you can use the Tracks List pop-up button to show only audio tracks,
aux tracks, instrument tracks, etc. and still use Option+Command+w to speak the
names and number of those types of tracks being shown. In the future, we might
have some deeper integration with Pro Tools that will give us access to more
information directly rather than necessarily going through the UI. Too early to
say anything more about that but thanks for the input and we'll always try to
help make the experience more efficient and productive.
Cheers,
Slau
