Resending this question in case someone has some thoughts to share on the subject: :)
Hi, I’m considering which new Mac to buy, and even though the new Mac Mini 2018 with 6 cores, i7 and SSD seems to be a good choice, I’m concerned about the GPU on those machines. In many cases people need to buy an additional eGPU to get their work done, at least those working with video and games. I’m curious though, if DAWs like Pro Tools uses most CPU or GPU power, and if an eGPU will be needed anyway here when running Pro Tools. Also, since I in some situations will run the machine headless without a monitor, just using VoiceOver, I wonder if GPU will be in use at all when running the machine headless. I’d appreciate if anyone here with experience or knowledge on this subject would share their thoughts with me. Thanks in advance!
