Hi Curt. You don’t necesarily have to run the latest version of protools. and it is very important to make sure the version is compatible with your mac OS. for example, it is not recommended to run mojave as it is not compatible with protools 2018.12 witch I believe is the latest update from protools. If you are running earlier versions of protools prior to 2018.7 High sierra is not recommended. So what ever version of PT you run, it’s a good idea to check on the avid site what OS works with it. But regarding keeping current with Pt. It really depends what you want to do, Personaly I do at the moment. I know studios still running Protools 10 and doing great work, They just have to run older systems, witch may work for them.
You can assign the Caps loc key to work as VO by going into the voice over utilities with Vo and F 8. It’s in the general preferences I think. Personally I have both set up, so I can use control and option or caps lock depending on what I’m doing. I think Slau recommends just using caps lock, and getting used to this, But I must admit, i do find it useful to have both active. Just my work flo. I’ll stand corrected on this But i don’t know if there is a way to add multiple tracks, I just add them one at a time using command shift n. But there well may be a way to do what your are after. Someone may chime in and give you further information regarding all of this. Steve > On 17 Feb 2019, at 10:26 am, kurt Lantz <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hello list.
