I think ProTools is too much for recording a podcast. It is possible to use it like a simple recorder but n why to use a complicate tool to make something which is easy to do with a simpler one? Recommend Audacity, Reaper or Soundforge. I use for example Amadeus Pro on my Mac for podcasting very well. 45 GBP is better then few hundreds pounds for such a thing? Everyone make decisions but , don't know. I will not go via Protools for podcast only.
