This presentation at the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatability meeting might be of interest, if you are wondering how they test and license wireless hardware. The EMC presentations are usually understandable to non-geeks. The general public may attend. They provide soda pop and pizza, and there are typically about 20 to 30 attendees. Myself, I will be at PLUG Advanced Topics that night. Our guest speaker, Greg Kiemel from NWEMC, will be discussing The EMC Authorization of Wireless Modules in the US and EU. Greg's two-part presentation will described the test methodologies used for determining EMC compliance of wireless modules, and will provide an overview of the modular approval process for EMC in the United States and in Europe. The meeting place will be at the University of Portland in the Hall of Fame Room at the Chiles Center (big white dome building on East side of the campus by the soccer fields). The meeting starts with food and networking at 6.30pm, presentation at 7.00pm.
