Well, type of Mic does matter, but I did wonder if you might have plugged
the external mic in before switching on the PTR1; if yes, then I think it's
more than likely that the recording was made by the built-in mic, as the
PTR1 only seems to detect an external mic if plugged in after turning on the
machine.
