Hi,

If the CD is bad, any software would barf on that disk.  If it wasn't a
bad CD, I could do with knowing the brand/part no of the disks.  Do you
have more than one of those particular disks, and if so can you do the
test again with the same brand?

Maybe the cd was bad, she says.
Could be it was, Linda.  I did try it in another machine, in the  victor
reader.  It played even worse than it had in the plex.
so I ran the thing again from the card; lucky I had not erased the card
yet.
Same thing; it forced the plextalk to re-run.  the thing still would not
track right played on the plex.  Some tracks played, but some were
decided failures.
So I threw that copy away and ran it a third time on a different kind of
cd.
 Voila!  The third time was a charm.  but think of the lost time.
