Hello again Michael:

What appears below is taken directly from the PTR1 users manual:

9.1 Principles for Recording in Music CD Format.
When recording in music CD format, keep these principles in mind:
* You should record music CD format only to digital audio recordable CD.
* The Plextalk cannot record in music CD format on a PC card.
* You cannot edit a recording in music CD format. If need to edit, record to
a PC card in another format, perform the desired editing, and then back up
the PC card or a CD in music CD format.

Now, too things. First, this "users manual" file is dated 07/12/2004; hence,
it can't reflect any firmware changes that took place after that date, i.e.,
2.01eng. Second, I was considering the terms "music CD format" and "pcm
44.1KHz" to be identical. Is this incorrect? Have you recorded in "music CD
format" directly to a PC card? Actually, when you consider that, when
recording in music CD format, the recorder looks to determine that the
storage disk is a "digital audio recordable" CD (DAR-CD), I don't see how
you could record in music CD format to a PC card since these cards are, to
the best of my knowledge, not available with the requisite DAR-CD flag /
digital signature, or the like encoded on them.

Can you enlighten me...and the list?

Many thanks!

John
