Frank and others,
Ok, your answer helped me out Frank. But it raises another question. Must I record using pcm 44.1 in order for the cd to be playable on all cd players? In other words, if I choose to use 64k, or any of the other "mp3" settings, the tracks will be separated, but the disc will only play on machines which support playing of mp3. Do I have that correct?

There is no, completely foolproof way to do it. However this works pretty well. Hit menu then cursor over to recording settings. Use customize and for the parameter to insert a section break mark set it to when it hears 4 seconds of silence. This will work for professionally produced tape recordings. If you made them yourself then you will have to adjust accordingly.

nO YOyou have to change the track after every song. If you just let the
let
the CD run without changing the track it will all be on one track Linda

Subject: recording from tape to cd
theHi all,
I'm about to use the PTR1 to record from tape onto cd. My question ofmoment is ... Must I stop recording after each track in order toseparatethe cd into logical tracks? Or is there a way to set the recordingsettingsso that the tape can play nonstop from beginning to end and the ptr1willautomatically recognize separation between tracks?
If this made enough sense, can you help? If it was gibberish, tell mehow I[EMAIL PROTECTED]can clarify.
Thanks, Scott
