I'm paraphrasing Albert's thesis for brevity, on the basis that it's
there
for anyone to call up for detail if required. As I understand it, what
Albert is saying is that capitalist relationships bring about their
various
consequences because of their very nature, not because of any
conspiratorial
actions by anyone. That it is therefore unproductive to seek out
conspiracies, either on a grand scale like the OECD negotiations on MAI
or
on a localised scale like laying on a massacre to justify disarming the
people. That the negative consequences of exploitative relationships
(based
on class ownership of the means of production) must persist unless and
until
the relationships are changed.
[AL]
Up to that point the parapharse is more or less consistent with what I
actually said.
[DG]
That tackling this or that negative
consequence is merely seeking a "kinder" form of the same exploitative
relationships.
[AL]
That conclusion has no connection with anything I said. Consequently
your detailed response to it misses my point entirely. Please check
again:

[...DG]
However, the main point I'm trying to make here is that you can't win a
class struggle without engaging in it.
[AL]
Seems an unnecessary point to try to make ;-)
The main point I made is:
"But if you are saying that we can best undermine their interests by
trying to convince people that there is a conspiracy involved, instead
of simply pointing out that our interests are diametrically opposed to
theirs, you have not offered any argument in support of that."
Evidently I have not expressed myself clearly enough to avoid
misunderstandings, but I believe it is also clear that you are simply
arguing against some other viewpoint, perhaps more familiar to you than
mine, and not responding to what I said at all.
