To:  The Honorable Kofi Annan,
        United Nations' Secretary-General,
        New York,  NY  10017  USA.

Dear Secretary-General,

Re:  Is Australia a Full Member State of the United Nations?

Could you please help clarify the situation as to Australia's sovereignty?

Is it not true that Australia has to be a sovereign country in order to be a Full Member State of the United Nations,  according to Articles 2.1 and 2.4 of the UN Charter?

However,  the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Australia is Part 9 of the United Kingdom Parliament's "Act to Constitute the Commonwealth of Australia , 63 & 64 Victoria,  9th July, 1900",  which means that Australia is still a British colony and not a sovereign country.

If this is not so and Australia is no longer a British colony but a sovereign country,  then Australia has no Constitution of its own and Australian Parliaments and Courts have no credentials or founding legislation.

Please help.

Yours sincerely,

John Wilson.
