Dear Fellow Australians,

I telephoned the United Nations' Information Centre,  Level 5/46 York Street, Sydney, (02) 9262 8111 to find out why I couldn't get an email to the Secretary-General.  The lady said that New York's United Nations' e-mail has not been working for about 2 months.  She gave me a fax number of 0010 1 212 963 4879.  (I thought faxes from Sydney started with 0015).

She seemed genuinely interested when I explained that there is great concern about Australia's status,  ie:  either (a) we are still a colony under the UK Parliament,  whose 1900 Act contains our Constitution, and therefore cannot be a Member State of the United Nations,  or (b) we are a sovereign country and a Member of the United Nations without a Constitution because our Constitution was extinguished at the time of becoming a sovereign country.......it's one or the other.

Does anyone know how to get an answer out of the Secretary-General to this question?

Yours sincerely,

John Wilson.
