I was at the Matilda website and was making the following
entry on the death Penalty. THE ENTRY WAS CENSORED.
Entry as proposed
Sassy- Thou shalt not MURDER. not the same as kill. After
Moses brought down the law they headed off into the desert. They then come
across various tribes in the promised land and KILL them. Well the men anyway.
They marry the women. After a bit the captured women start to introduce the
foreign Baals to the people. So Moses and the other rulers have a pogrom and
kill some 20,000 Isrealites and their families. Much later on Saul's family
loses its right to be the rulers of Israel because Sauls soldiers go someplace
and fail to kill every living man, woman, child, cow, dog etc and instead bring
the captives home. Joash (I think) is the one who traps the fallowers of Baal in
a temple and kills them all (and makes the Temple into toilet cubicles)
The "thou shall not murder" meant that thou shall not murder me, or me you, but that this did not apply to the "state" which could sanction death for a variety of reasons. THE OFFENDING SENTENCE Adulters, blasphemers, murderers homosexuals and others all got stoned (and not with marijuana) when appropriate. So saying I am against the Death penalty because having seen how the Justice system works in Australia as I fight the Gun laws I wouldn't trust our leaders with it. So I deleted "and not with marijuana" still didn't work I then put the Marijauna bit back in and deleted "Adulters,
blasphemers, murderers homosexuals and others all got stoned" and the entry was
accepted.
I suspect that the word Homoseual was the problem- it seems it may now be a
prohibited word
So this is how Australian Censorship works. Just as well we kept our
GUNs
