I don't think we'll be very good at making these kinds of distinctions until some conceptualisation along the lines of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FRBR gets more traction in our vocabulary and our specs. Until then, it's hard to even articulate a clear description of common situations like the different or not-different versions of the jquery libraries being made available from thousands of different websites and URLs...
