On April 20 a Candidate Recommendation of the WARP spec was published
thus the spec is ready for implementation:
http://www.w3.org/TR/2010/CR-widgets-access-20100420/
The Implementation Report [IR] is currently just a place holder and
the test suite [TS] needs work.
Some implementation data for this spec is available at [Impl].
Additions, deletions, and corrections to this data are welcome!

Dear Advisory Committee Representative,
W3C is pleased to announce the advancement of "Widget Access Request
Policy" to Candidate Recommendation:
http://www.w3.org/TR/2010/CR-widgets-access-20100420/
The approval and publication is in response to the following
transition request from the Web Applications Working Group:
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/chairs/2010AprJun/0006
This specification defines the security model controlling network
access from within a widget, as well as a method for widget authors to
request that the user agent grant access to certain network resources
or sets thereof.
The transition is a result of a second last call. Resulting comments
were editorial only. The disposition of comments is available at:
http://www.w3.org/2006/02/lc-comments-tracker/42538/WD-widgets-
access-20091208/doc/
Comments from the first last call are available at
http://www.w3.org/2006/02/lc-comments-tracker/42538/WD-widgets-
access-20090804/
There were no Formal Objections.
The Working Group does not plan to request to advance to Proposed
Recommendation prior to 6 May 2010. Implementation feedback based on
any aspect of this specification is welcome and encouraged; please
send comments to [email protected].
Patent disclosures relevant to the specification may be found on the
Working Group's patent disclosure page in conformance with W3C policy:
http://www.w3.org/2004/01/pp-impl/42538/status
It should be noted that there is currently a PAG in progress regarding
two patent applications.

Per the Patent Policy FAQ, the Director will not generally start a
Proposed Recommendation review period until after the PAG discussing
the document has issued its report:
