Apparently the main point of the post is a protocol called CloudPipe. The post itself is something of interest since it admits and states as resolved the two points we've always had over rssCloud - Fat pings and the deflection of a thundering herd from hitting Publishers. It's apparently, spec outstanding, the "missing piece" of rssCloud and the motivation seemed to draw from a discussion with the Tumblr guys. There's also a loose claim about PuSH not operating over a firewall - presumably because we don't address such problems (others have more than adequately).
