Well this is just a work around, not a fix. Not suspending will use more
power and cause battery drain etc. The correct fix is to make things
work properly when reopening the device.

If you could provide logs as Luiz suggested that may be useful for the
developers to see what kind of error is reported when opening the device
for the second time after a suspend.
