Should we also be adding a 7.1 profile? As I understand HDMI support 7.1
LPCM. Of course, ideally, we should get the number of speaker in ELD
information and configure the profiles accordingly, but that's for
another day.
This is just a question of what's common, vs the minor extra time and
space taken at startup (especially for all those cards that don't have
HDMI at all).
I don't have a really strong opinion either way as I don't know how
common it is that people want to use 7.1 LPCM HDMI.
