Dear Shirish
I don't know which alsa-driver-1.0.24 you are using. If you downloaded the version 1.0.24 from ALSA web site, please try 1.0.25.

Subject: [pulseaudio-discuss] not able to hear audio anywhere.
Hi all,
First of all thanx for making pulseaudio. First of all please CC me
if somebody replies as I turned off mail delivery (as mailing lists
does generate quite a bit of content and I am more of a passive mail
user (do not delete old mails much.)).
Anyways what happened is after some updates I'm not able to hear any
audio from the system. The alsa info shell script that I have attached
should give all the required info. If still something is missing
please lemme know.
Please see http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/687/pavucontrol1.png/
and http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/560/pavucontrol2.png/
As can be seen in the images, according to pavucontrol it's unable to
find the hardware devices (dunno why) and shows dummy output. I am
running GNOME 3 with gnome-fallback (if that makes any difference).
While I have submitted the bug in Debian BTS as well .
