Ok, I was mistaken. It's not the device itself, it's the device I have
selected in my .asoundrc!
Here is a snippet of my .asoundrc (my first email has a link to the full
file)
pcm.dmixed {
type asym
playback.pcm {
type dmix
slave {
pcm {
type hw
card 3
My card 0 is the internal motherboard audio, and card 3 is my usual usb
audio.
If I have card set to 3, all other cards except card 3 work flawlessly
with this game, and, if I set it to 0, only card 0 does the cracy sound
(and card 0 si not an usb device).
SDL is using alsa and not pulseaudio, and if I change it to use
pulseaudio the sound goes terribly wrong again. I suppose that
pulseaudio is doing something wrong with the device, probably due to a
misconfiguration or something?
