#261: Pulseaudio crashes when ALSA changes a devices name. --------------------+------------------------------------------------------- Reporter: avuton | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: daemon | Severity: major Keywords: | --------------------+------------------------------------------------------- I know, it should probably never happen in real life, but I have a device that ALSA is improperly initializing on resume from hibernation, and it changes it's ALSA device name from: alsa_output.usb_device_d8c_c_noserial_if0_sound_card_0_alsa_playback_0
on initial startup to: alsa_output.usb_device_ffffffff_ffffffff_noserial_0_sound_card_0_alsa_playback_0 after resume from hibernation. I don't have proof this is causing the crash, but after the crash, when I start pulseaudio back up, each time it has changed to the latter. This problem is probably being worked on by the ALSA developers, but it's probably something good for pulseaudio to check for as well, regardless. -- Ticket URL: <http://www.pulseaudio.org/ticket/261> PulseAudio <http://pulseaudio.org/> The PulseAudio Sound Server _______________________________________________ pulseaudio-tickets mailing list pulseaudio-tickets@mail.0pointer.de https://tango.0pointer.de/mailman/listinfo/pulseaudio-tickets
