In PA we try to cut down on the volume controls exposed since most of them
are pretty pointless. The number of people fully understanding their mixer
controls as exposed in alsamixer is near zero. So the idea is to have sane
defaults for almost all settings and only exposing Master in PA.
The thing unfortunately is that the proper initialization of mixers has
been lacking until the most recent ALSA version where a database of
default mixer settings got introduced.
