I'm getting the same problem when I use softwares that tries to use OSS
directly to capture audio, like xvidcap, istanbul or recordmydesktop.
I already tried the workaround described here, but stills not working for
me on various computers (with different hardware). I tried to use padsp
too, but I was getting the same situation. All programs freeze at
capturing start.
