Portaudio is now supported (through ALSA emulation), but the Portaudio
patch is unofficial so far and needs some polishing when it comes to the
latency issue. For Audacity this is ok, as the latency setting can be
adjusted. For other portaudio apps we have a problem with playback
stuttering when the default latency setting is very low - the app expect
PortAudio to adjust the latency to a no-dropout value, but we could use
some guidance in how to do that.
