#576: No way to select HDMI sink except pavucontrol --------------------+------------------------------------------------------- Reporter: realh | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Milestone: | Component: daemon Keywords: | --------------------+------------------------------------------------------- The only way I can make pulseaudio use my NVidia HDMI audio output is to select it as the "Profile" in the Configuration tab of pavucontrol, which I have to do every time I restart the server. The HDMI ALSA device is hw:0,3. I've put:
load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,3 set-default-sink in /etc/pulse/default.pa but it doesn't make any difference. I guessed at 'alsa_output.hw_0_3' because the output of the list command includes: name: <alsa_output.hw_0_3> but 'paplay -d alsa_output.hw_0_3 ...' causes the error "Stream errror: No such entity". One of the reasons I'm reporting this as a bug is because the documentation makes several references to sink and device names, but nowhere does it explain how to specify a name. And as they are not discoverable either, this makes an essential feature effectively useless, which is why I'm reporting it as a bug. -- Ticket URL: <http://pulseaudio.org/ticket/576> PulseAudio <http://pulseaudio.org/> The PulseAudio Sound Server _______________________________________________ pulseaudio-tickets mailing list pulseaudio-tickets@mail.0pointer.de https://tango.0pointer.de/mailman/listinfo/pulseaudio-tickets
