#457: Pulseaudio's control of my LFE volume uses incorrect assumptions ---------------------+------------------------------------------------------ Reporter: mini | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: reopened Milestone: | Component: module-alsa-* Resolution: | Keywords: ---------------------+------------------------------------------------------
Comment(by mini): I don't have front/rear controls (looking at alsamixer, for example) - I only have Master, PCM and LFE. The system has three hardware speakers (L, R and LFE) but the sound card is only 2.0 - the LFE channel is extracted from L+R inside the card. LFE *does* have a separate mixer control though. I am saying that final volume for my front speakers are the product pcm*master, and the volume of the LFE channel is pcm*lfe. And it does suck :-) Before PA, I used to set GNOME to control PCM instead of master, and set both Master and LFE to max. That worked well (as one would guess from the above formulas). PA changed all that for the worse unfortunately. -- Ticket URL: <http://pulseaudio.org/ticket/457#comment:7> PulseAudio <http://pulseaudio.org/> The PulseAudio Sound Server _______________________________________________ pulseaudio-tickets mailing list pulseaudio-tickets@mail.0pointer.de https://tango.0pointer.de/mailman/listinfo/pulseaudio-tickets
