Comment(by coling):
Lots of things have changed since 0.9.14. Is this problem still present
with 0.9.21 + patches from the stable queue branch? One thing we certainly
do these days is to disable timer based scheduling when we detect we are
running inside a VM which may or may not be related to this specific use
case.
