Issue #1736 has been updated by ohookins.

OK, no problem. I would submit a patch immediately but it is almost certain to
cause disagreements over what the accepted abbreviations should be as there is
significant overlap in starting letters. Any patch should make this change
effective for ALL puppet executables.

If there are no existing ideas, I'll suggest some of my own and prepare to have
them ripped to shreds ;)

Bug #1736: All command-line options should have single-letter abbreviations
http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/show/1736

Author: ohookins
Status: Accepted
Priority: Normal
Assigned to: community
Category: executables
Target version: unplanned
Complexity: Unknown
Affected version: 0.24.6
Keywords:

I find myself using a number of the command-line options to puppetd that don't
have abbreviations, for example --no-daemonize and --ignorecache.

If we can settle on single-letter representations of every option it would be
very handy.
