Issue #2068 has been updated by luke. Status changed from Unreviewed to Rejected
This is desired behaviour, and is the behaviour for all of the other packaging systems that support specifying versions. I agree it'd be nice to have a '>=' ability, but that's a different feature (not bug). ---------------------------------------- Bug #2068: Specifying version in package resource causes Gentoo systems to downgrade to that version http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2068 Author: harisekhon Status: Rejected Priority: Urgent Assigned to: Category: package Target version: Complexity: Unknown Affected version: 0.24.7 Keywords: package { "something": ensure => "1.0" } causes Gentoo systems to try to emerge =something-1.0 instead of just ensure that the version is at least 1.0, so if you have 1.5 installed, you go back down to 1.0. This is bad and can completely destabilize your system or cause other problem. ---------------------------------------- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
