Issue #2426 has been updated by Nigel Kersten.
So ultimately once people drop 10.4 support, they will be able to move towards the newer flat packages, which don't require dmg wrapping, and support http based installation better, but I suggest we make a new provider for that case. I've sent the patch to the list, but I'm also removing the confine for /Library/Receipts, as future OS X versions may not use this directory, and confining for the OS is a more robust method anyway. ---------------------------------------- Bug #2426: Default package provider for Darwin should be pkgdmg, not apple. http://projects.reductivelabs.com/issues/2426 Author: Nigel Kersten Status: Needs design decision Priority: Normal Assigned to: Nigel Kersten Category: Target version: Complexity: Unknown Affected version: 0.25.0 Keywords: This needs a design decision, but I'm pretty sure we're not the only people who consider the pkgdmg provider to be the default for our platform. I'll do the patches once a decision is reached. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
